Once every month is primordial to take a few minutes to get to know your breast a little bit better, this is a commitment for your own safety and/or the responsibility to remind it to all of your beloved special women.
In this entry, we want to share some information that guide you in the way to the self-examination and the principal reasons why you should do it often.
Why is it important to self-examinate your breast?
The importance of the self-exams is the early diagnostic, because its said that at least one in every 9 women are expected to develop this type of cancer in their lifetime… but most importantly, around 40% of diagnosed breast are detected thanks to the self-examination due to that women felt a lump.
What steps do you need to follow in your self-exam?
To perform a self-exam, please note these following steps:
- First you should lay down and place a pillow under your right shoulder and put you right arm behind you head.
- Using your left hand, you have to move the pads of your finger around your right breast in small circular motions, you should cover the entire breast area and armpit.
- Repeat the same steps for your left boob.
How often you should perform a self-exam?
Take into consideration, that the more often you perform a self-exam, the more aware you are to take actions in time for you own safety. That’s why it is recommended to do it once per month, we suggest you to choose a day each month, and set a reminder in your calendar so you don’t forget.
